Marinas and jetties extend into the bay at each end of the beach, with numerous boats moored in between. The 230 m long beach faces east across the bay. It is 2-3 m wide at high tide, with a small creek draining across the centre (Fig. 4.232). It is backed by a shady sloping reserve, with New South Head Road above the southern end of the beach. Seawalls and the main road extend 1 km east to Lyne Park, which protrudes 200 m into the bay.
