Lecks Beach (GK16) is the longest beach on the island and site of the island's only tidal creek. The beach is 1.8km in length and faces initially north, curving around by the eastern headland and creek mouth to face north-west. Backall Creek, the only major creek on the island, drains the only salt flats and mangroves on the island. The creek flows out at the eastern end of the beach, producing a small tidal delta at the mouth. Elsewhere the beach is low gradient and fronted by a 100m wide, continuous bar. Waves are usually low to calm.
