The western end of Clam Bay lies at the base of 175m high Mount Windham, the highest point on the island. Along its rocky, indented base are two small pocket beaches. GK08 is a 50m long low tide bar wedged in between and under surrounding rocks, with no high tide beach. It is relatively exposed and receives waves averaging over 0.5m, which produce small rips against the rocks. Its immediate neighbour (GK09) is of similar length, but contains a 50m wide boulder high tide beach, that grades into sand toward low tide.
