Svendsen Beach is a 750m long, curving, west facing beach that has a few shacks located on low land behind the northern end. The beach is sheltered and receives low waves, that maintain a low gradient beach fronted by a 50m wide bar and relatively shallow bay, which is used as a boat anchorage by the shack owners. The beach ends at a northern jagged, 20m high point, on the eastern side of which is a patchy, 150m long, steep sandy beach (GK19) lying in amongst the rocks. This beach and backing Svendsen Beach form a small tombolo that ties the point to the island.
