South of Wreck Beach are three smaller beaches (GK02-GK04), each separated by 40m high, grassy headlands and which receive increasing protection from the southern Sykes Rock headland. The first (GK02) is 350m long and faces east-north-east, receiving waves averaging 0.5m. It has a moderately steep high tide beach fronted by a 100m wide bar. Beside the bordering headland it is backed by a 20m high, degraded foredune and an older sand blowout that has run up the backing bedrock. Much of the headland and dune degradation is due to the island's goat population, with goats commonly being seen on the headlands.
