Beach WA 893 commences on the northern side of the sandy foreland, initially curving to the north for 1.5km to the lee of the prominent Alkimos wreck, then continues north-north-west 6.5km past Pipidinny Beach and the southern side of Yanchep to the beginning of the Yanchep beachrock. For most of its length it is backed by a 10-20m high foredune with a few blowouts, then vegetated undeveloped (in 2001) transgressive dunes extending 2-3km inland. There is curently development taking place in the southern half of the beach with the northern section backed by the expanding settlement of Yanchep. The southern section is being developed for housing with beach access now open at Alkimos. Pleistocene calcarenite reef continue to parallel the shore lowering waves to less than 1 m, which maintain a relatively steep reflective beach face. The beach is sandy apart from a section of partly exposed beachrock along Pipidinny Beach.
